Phototherapy in Animal Practice CPD

  • Kennel Club of Great Britain Kennel Club Building Kenilworth, England, CV8 2LZ United Kingdom (map)

Phototherapy using visible and infrared light, or ‘photobiomodulation’ is the application of non-ionising therapeutic light or photon energy to stimulate cellular energy.

Until recently, most of the CPD education has been with the use of laser devices that can pose risk to eyes and tissue depending on the classification. Safer modern LED (Light Emitting Diode) devices are now available for both practitioner and home use and are demonstrating comparable treatment results. We believe in the importance of understanding the difference between laser and modern LED devices so practitioners can make an informed choice on which devices to use for their practice.
